How to: Fix "cell standby" bug in the LG Optimus series
"Cell standby" battery fix
I have figured out how to get by with exceptional battery life on the new android phone on the prepaid carrier Virgin Mobile. This is by by-passing the "cell standby" bug on a lot of android phones. This process is pretty easy. You simple open the phone settings, go to "about phone", "battery use". If the cell standby percent is above or around 50% then you have the bug. To fix this open your dialer, type in "*#*#4636#*#*". A pop-up menu will appear. Go to "phone settings", then hit the menu button and push "select brand radio". Then the application will foreclose. Then repeat the process again and instead of pushing "select brand radio" scroll down and change the radio type to "CDMA only" then back to "CDMA auto (PRL). You will have to repeat this process anytime after rebooting the device. Hope this helps
